A garden design and make practice in Devon that creates unique, finely detailed atmospheric gardens and landscapes. Ameld weave an organic ecological aesthetic that responds to the site and provides for a full diversity of life. Planted layered environments growing as/within sculptural shapes, providing atmosphere and lasting beauty within varied locations and found habitats.

For the past 15 years carbon light methods of making have stimulated emergent natural solutions. Adapting available materials and building in provision for the future have been at the heart of the making process. Change is a constant to be designed in.

Conrad Batten

Conrad has been designing atmospheric sculptural spaces for 15 years, installing ecologically resilient, productive gardens and climate change sensitive landscapes in the South West of England. Projects have been private with some public sector work. He also acts as a consultant for Martin Crawford and The Agroforestry Research Trust.

Duncan Nuttall

Duncan graduated with a degree in Fine Art in 2006, during which he developed his sculptural approach to working. Since then he has worked hands on with the landscape, as a head gardener and garden maker. He focuses on creating work that sits quietly amongst the landscape, incorporating considered, practical forms and plants that enable the viewer to engage more closely with nature.
